UK Foam shortage 2020 - What it means

As you may have heard in the news there is currently an on-going foam shortage in the UK and globally. One of the main chemical components of foam (TDI) is in short supply. A large proportion of the chemical is produced in Germany. 

We have seen supply restricted over the last few months with cumulative immediate price increases resulting in a 40% rise. Prices have stabilised now and we have managed to maintain good stock of foam for our customers. 

This has been a very challenging year for all businesses. Foam is involved in many types of industry including furniture, upholstery, mattresses and many more.
